NORML Women’s Alliance (“NWA”) has launched a new program focusing on alternative dispute resolution services for the Cannabis Industry. According to their press release, “Courts are reluctant, or in some cases, barred from hearing these cases, either because the subject of the contracts are illegal, as in California, or because of the inconsistent laws between state and federal governments.”
NWA is resolving this conflict by offering an alternative way to handle business disputes in the Cannabis industry. For more information, visit www.normlwomensalliance.org. For more information, contact Kyndra Miller or Matt Kumin at 855-9 NORML W (855-966-7659).

NORML Women’s Alliance Announces Launch of Alternative Dispute Resolution Services for the Cannabis Industry
Today, the NORML Women’s Alliance (NWA) is proud to announce its new alternative dispute resolution services division, offering mediation and arbitration services to the nation’s cannabis industry.
Prior to today, parties in the cannabis industry with contractual disputes have been left with few avenues for resolution. Courts are reluctant to hear these cases because of the inconsistent laws between state and federal governments. Existing alternative dispute resolution services lack intimate knowledge of cannabis culture. NWA’s new services are designed to fill that gap.
Finally, parties will be able to resolve their disputes quickly and efficiently through in-person or virtual mediation and arbitration with experts that understand the unique challenges those in the cannabis industry face.
Cannabis industry participants can find more information about these new services on NWA’s website at: http://www.normlwomensalliance.org. Participants are encouraged to include contractual model language securing NWA mediators and arbitrators for alternative dispute resolution, also found on our website. Attorneys interested in participating as mediation or arbitration panelists are welcome to apply.
NWA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit consisting of socially and geographically diverse women who believe that marijuana prohibition is a self-destructive and hypocritical policy that undermines the American family, sends a mixed and false message to our young people, and destroys the cherished principles of personal liberty and local self-government.
NORML Women are bringing a contemporary approach to the public policy debate, and are proudly representing the interests of modern, mainstream women who believe that the negative consequences of marijuana prohibition far outweigh any repercussions from marijuana consumption itself. NWA also presents a core group of national spokeswomen ready to interact with the public and the media on the important issue of marijuana legalization.
